[Solved] The iPhone Cannot Be Synced iTunes Error (-54) After Windows 11 Upgrade
When you try to sync your iPhone with iTunes, you might see an alert message saying that:
The iPhone cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred(-54).
This can happen if a file on your computer or iPhone is locked. In most case, you will be able to sync after you click theOKbutton at the bottom of the message.
If the sync still won’t happen, don’t worry, this is an easy question to solve.
Before we begin, please make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer and that your iPhone is already updated to the latest version.

- ClickStartbutton, then choose File Explorerfrom the list of choice.
- Head to theMusic folder.
- Right clickiTunesfolder and chooseProperties.
- Unchecked theRead Onlyoption underAttributes.
- ClickApplyand thenOKto save the change.
- You will see a pop-up window saying that the change will be applied to all the sub-folders. ClickOK to continue.
If the problem still persists, verify that you have full control over the iTunes folder. To do this,
a) Right clickiTunesfolder and chooseProperties.
b) UnderSecuritytab, clickEditbutton.
c) Make sure theFull controloption here is allowed. If not, tick the box ofFull controland hitApply.
Once this is done, you should be able to sync your iPhone with your iTunes without problem.
